COOKING

Different cooking formulations are employed depending on the desired quality. The parameters that influence the quality of pulp during cooking are:

1. Fiber grade

2. Source of Fiber.

3. Cooking Chemicals

4. Cooking Pressure /
Temperature

5. Length of cooking time

These parameters are varied to obtain optimum conditions to achieve the desired pulp quality. The cooking process is the most important stage of pulping. This will determine the quality of the pulp. Once the cooked pulp approaches the desired quality, the succeeding stages are devoted to cleaning, whitening and drying processes.
To ensure consistent pulp quality, the cooking process is controlled by precision instrumentation that controls the cooking parameters. Since most pulp produced by IPPC are converted to specialty paper intended for food grade applications all products from mill are required conform to this requirement as a matter of policy.
