Quality Control
Isarog quality control starts not at the receiving point of the raw fiber at the mill, but at the abaca plantation, the very source of fiber itself. Among its many sources in different regions, as well as on its own plantation, Isarog maintains a vast network of raw material procurement activities. In being able to identify and select the specific district of plantation and abaca plant variety prior to mill utilization, Isarog is thus able to stabilize raw material input in order to meet customers pulp quality requirements. Starting from the detailed quality monitoring of fiber input, process and quality monitoring are undertaken in all processing sections from cooking down to final inspection of finished pulp bales.
Process monitoring data such as degree of cooking (Permanganate No. / Kappa no.,. viscosity, residual liquor, pH, etc.) bleaching (cellulose degradation, viscosity, etc.), dirt contaminants are monitored, checked and counter checked on a per cook basis to assure pulp uniformity based on customer's specifications. At the finished product end, simulated test on the anticipated paper quality is further undertaken prior to final certification of pulp quality. Through a system carefully monitored by qualified quality control personnel with the use of equipment and facilities that conform to internationally accepted standards in the pulp and paper industry, Isarog continues to enjoy the reputation of a reliable and competent supplier of specialty pulp. |
